So Freitasm has been asked to (and has) lock the multi hundred page Krapi Cable Congestion thread. I think we can safely assume that it's not those who have been impacted by the poor performance or even worse customer service over the last several years who asked for that to happen, but Vodafone staff members (or worse PR/spin doctor types) seeking to sweep things under the carpet.

 

I've started this thread so that we can continue to pour scorn on Vodafone, their terrible record of customer service, the abysmal performance for many customers over the last few years, and the outdated cynical attitude they have shown.

 

While they have improved the performance (after pretty much denying there was a problem for 18 months), most customers have never received an apology let alone compensation, and they have never stopped making claims that the HFC network is "Ultra Fast" and "fast, reliable broadband" (direct quotes from their website), both of which I consider to be demonstrably false.

Really unsure what you would want to achieve with this? Surely everything that has value has been said ad infinitum in the other thread.

Sorry how did they force you to do this?

Sounds more like something you chose to do

Many customers that logged fault tickets dId get compensation as mentioned by end users in the now locked thread

Given that Vodafone have never publicly admitted there was an issue, let alone publicly apologised or offered blanket compensation to all customers who've had issues, and are now trying to put it behind them and sweep it under the carpet, we should be repeating those things still.

Vodafone can't sweep anything here on Geekzone and you know it pretty well. I locked the thread because the request was valid. It is so long (the thread is still available for read so nothing was swept) that people couldn't make out what was going on anymore.

I am no big fan of Vodafone but I think I am fair.

I can understand wanting a thread to complain about CURRENT performance issues, and CURRENT customer service issues, but complaining about what has already been done, doesn't seem productive. 

 

Whilst I can understand your anger, I've been in this situation, in the nicest possible way, I'd like to gently suggest you find a different and more productive way to expend your energy. I don't imagine anyone

 

who could do something about your issues would a) read this and b) feel inclined to do something about it as a result of this thread.

 

You'd be far better off lodging a case with fair go, under the consumers or fair trading act.

Each call I did get $15 compensation. Back in September I was out like two days in a row, got fed up with the DNS and CDN issues, Google and free opendns just don't seem to cut it due to load. Long story short, I've yet to experience the two errors mentioned since. Best $20 I spent..

Those two issues been the majority of complaint I have as a cable user, otherwise VF is as good as any other ISP. I just don't have the energy anymore to moan at them.

VodafoneNZ sent out letters before the first lot of upgrades started but then those upgrades went down the toilet as capacity run out,

Not all customers were impacted at peak time, Christchurch customers were better off than some of the Wellington customers that were on the HFC congested nodes so why should a blanket credit be offered?

Many customers that called and complained did get compensation as stated in the locked thread

Once Gig plans come in to play i can see the congestion being somewhat the same to be honest.

 

if the GPON is 2.5gb down and 1.5gb up, total segment saturation is easily done if a few tie up all the bandwidth.

 

AS OF NOTE: i install fiber and all the 100/20, 30/10 200/200 etc have a CIR of 2.5, so your not guaranteed anything more than 2.5/2.5 on any plan.
