I switched to Vodafone for my mobile provider back in July because 2 degrees upped their pricing on the cheapest prepay.

I thought I'd take a look to see how my usage has been and used my browser to go to vodafone.co.nz, then clicked on 'My Vodafone' and logged in.

I saw my balance and clicked on 'usage' and saw my usage for the last 31 days.

What about prior to that?  I just can't find the option to see what I used before 31 days ago.

I checked on My Vodafone through the app on my phone - wow, that is worse.  The balance is different (and clearly wrong) and usage shows no usage in the current period.

I'm not sure how we can live in the information age but I can't get some very basic information from my mobile provider.

I'm not planning to change from Vodafone, 1 cent per text is saving me a lot compared to 20c per text with 2Degrees or Spark.  But damn, who created that awful 'My Vodafone' mess?

I have a Pay & Go connection in the My Vodafone App and it works fine and no idea why you would want / need to view more than 30 days usage

It's cheap Prepay mobile usage but you want top shelf

Its not just you.

I love the being asked twice always about a survey in the app.

And when you go to add something on, and there isnt enough so it offers to top you up, but the app says it failed but you get the SMS to say you have been topped up, then the ballance in the app is wrong so it wont let you top up and you have to close and restart the app to get it to show the right balance so it will let you get the more data you need.

And then it asks you twice again if you want to do their goddamn survey again.

WHAT?

How is wanting to look at your usage 'top shelf'?

And in my case the app on my phone shows a higher remaining balance than the website shows, or at least it did.  Checking again the balance now shows correctly, but it still shows no transactions in this period.

Are you trying to suggest that the app and website would work perfectly if I paid more?  I find it hard to believe that these things only work poorly because I'm on the pay & go plan.  It seems more likely that even if I paid top shelf prices I'd still have really rubbish information.

I don't even know how to respond to someone suggesting that looking at last month's usage is somehow unneeded or unwanted.  I don't really care if you don't need or want that information because that has absolutely nothing to do with what someone else may need or want.  I can think of so many reasons why someone could want or need that information that it really astounds me that someone would fail to see the possible value in it.

When you first open the app I've noticed a delay before it refreshes the usage data (or you can pull the screen down to force it to refresh).

Try using their Customerzone website to 'manage' your fixed line fibre account.  You can't even tell what your current account balance is and whether you've paid your last bill.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Talk to Vodafone and pitch them this idea.

That was my reaction -- 'you have an app? Luxury!, I fumble my way through a website version, which normally defeats me...'

Good feedback, I'll pass that onto the team - the drilling into data rather than the comment ;)

Agreed, I thought the old version of the website was okay, but now I have to sign in every single time, which is a pain if you want to check your balance quickly.
