My daughter is in hospital and I went to top up her phone.  Tried twice and got..

"Top up failed

The Top Up service is currently unavailable, please try again later."

How much later . 1 hour , 1 day??  Good reason that i would never use Vodafone ever again.

How were you topping up? Voucher or credit card? Ive had issues in the past with credit card topups saying that and then processing later so dont keep hammering at it to see if it works.

Did you try calling the contact centre and manually topping up?

Of course other providers don't have topup issues or any other outages from time to time and did you think about actually speaking to someone on 777 / 0800 0800 021 and seeing if they could manually top-up the Prepay connection?

You can top-up from Telephone banking / Internet banking / Banking Apps / ATM's / buy a recharge voucher from almost every service station / corner dairy / Supermarket in NZ

Spark's was down a few months ago, and they allowed you to still make calls, use data etc even if your balance was zero. It made me feel a little guilty as I was supposed to be paying $30/MB for roaming data, so I tried not to use too much...

Finally it went thru just now.  Never had a problem topping up on Spark, 2D or Skinny.  Topping up via CC.

A lot of NZ based transactional websites seem to have issues around 7pm to 8pm nights. The bonusbond one is always failing around that time, guess they arent built to cope with peak loads.
