How do I configure the standard telecom Wireless ASDL router D-Link DSL-G604T with the TCL Motorola SB5101 cable modem.

Or is it impossible? - if it is impossible please tell me now so I don't waste anymore time trying to make it happen!

I'd be 99% certain that this can't be used with a TCL cable modem.

In most routers with built in ADSL modem the router only operates between the ADSL connection and LAN, you can't use an external ethernet device such as a cable modem.

I think I asked this with our netgear DG834G a while ago, but the answer that I got back from everyone was that it needed to have a physical WAN or Router plug on the back of the router. I hink thats what I got back.

The only thing you could do is use the 604 as a wireless bridge, and configure your static IP on the Wireless interface on your PC.  However it's far from ideal.

Again to re-iterate, I recommend you get a Linksys WRT54GL, load DD-WRT, and you would be done!.
