Everyone knows this forum is always the last but the best option if you have any issue with NZ mobile or broadband provider.

I requested to bring my slingshot mobile number to vodafone. I tried to do it online yesterday, but it was unsuccessful.  I rang vf this morning, the lady grabbed all my details and tried and failed. She asked me to ring slingshot to get advise. I called them and was told that I could use either sim number or my slingshot account number when do request. I used both through vodafone website, failed , failed again. Then I did ring vf again, the lady tried and said it's on process now. Then I went back to my online account to check the status, it shows"

Initial checks indicate that the selected service provider may be incorrect and your request has not been sent to the selected provider for validation. Please check the details and resubmit the request."

The message is absolutely as same as what I have seen a few times before.

It's quite frustrated just for the number porting.

Can anyone help?

The guys in the shops are the experts at this, in my limited experience. They have a different perspective to the vodafone reps. It might be too late for them to sort it, though.

to correct what the CSR from slingshot has told you

If you are on postpaid then use your account number
If you are on prepaid then use the sim number

however the CSR from vodafone should have just processed it for you in "open access" just to see what error it's throwing
My guess would be declined by LSP aka slingshot

I do second what jlittle has said most of the staff in stores seem to be a little better at the porting thing

The views expressed by me are not necessarily those of my employer
