2.7 mbps down and 340k up national

2.3 mbps down and 320k up international to LA

From Pukekohe

(I am working off a UMTS900 site and I would say there are very few users on it)

On a cell with more users you would get slower speeds! average around 1 mbps down and 300k up depending on the time of day.

I'm in Auckland CBD, Parnell, 50 metres from Parnell shops, and can see the sky tower... This is my speeds with a Vodem with all the latest drivers/firmware etc.

Speedtest

It says it connects at 3.7MBits, Yeah Right.

I've also tried a PC Card which got around the same speeds.

I spent the last month travelling around the north island, and couldn't get more than dialup speeds anywhere I went, and ping times were 3000ms-6000ms.

I've found Vodafone's mobile broadband to be really bad, and am starting to look at getting of all things a Telecom 3G card running on their old CDMA network, because I can get at least 150kbps anywhere in the country, and the coverage is much better.

Tyler - Parnell Geek - iPhone 3G - Lenovo X301 - Kaseya - Great Western Steak House, these are some of my favourite things.
