I'm after a tool that can help me diagnose the problems with my internet connection. All I need is a program that can ping one or more servers and alert me when the internet connection drops. Even better once it has a problem with the first website if it could ping or traceroute some other sites at the same time that'd be handy.

Does a tool like this exist?

That's designed for unix, getting it running under windows would take longer than I can be bothered spending. There's too many required modules. Apart from that it'd be fine. Thanks for the suggestion though. Windows apps would be easier.

Try DMT Tool but only works with some routers. It will do everything you want and more

The information's in german, and it seems to be a tool for dsl modems. Do you have any more info?
