Juat called Xnet to start the ball rolling with switching from IHUG to Xnet....
Cant be done easily at the moment due to a glitch in the process that lets non-Telecom line holders move to another line provider. ARGH.
The CSR was nice and explained all for me and offered me the 3 things which lead me to getting Xnet Fusion.

1) Wait till the process is fixed (she took my details to add to a register of ppl waiting)
2) Switch to Telecom then to Xnet
3) Dump all line services and hope my port dosent go walkies and connect to Xnet.

So.. option #2 is the most viable, yet whats the story with it... I literally call Teleocm, say I want line with them, then soon as its done dump them for Xnet ? Is there a minimum term I have to eb with Telecom or anything ?

If option #3, then how likely is it I lose my port and have to pay to get a fresh one ?

Moving from a non-Xtra provider directly to Xnet Fusion (aka WorldxChange naked DSL) is not possible. Yet.

You need to churn your ADSL to Xnet first, then it can be moved to Fusion.  With your current phone number a customer link is setup to your new VFX number so that people can continue to contact you.

From your list, I wouldn't recommend #3 as you can't port a non-active number.  Cancelling all services and you'll lose your number.

If you want to get Fusion now send me a PM and I'll take you through it.

You will also have to pay Telecom around $50 to connect your line. You will only need to keep it active for a week or two.

Why would you need to do this?  When you convert to Fusion quote your existing phone line - this will then disconnect the phone line.

I've recently moved from Slingshot to Fusion ...

I was originally with Slingshot for line rental and tolls, and WxC on their river plan for ADSL with a VFX second line.... Now on WxC Fusion with my old Slingshot number ported.

I was without my Slingshot phone number for a total of 5 days (including the weekend and anzac day).. Was originally told the outage would be 6 hours when I first inquired, but was later told after 24 hours that the number outage would actually be 48 hours, internet 6 hours.

I didn't notice an internet outage...
