Hi

For some unknown reason I have just remembered an issue I had many months ago and I wonder if anyone can explain what I need to do.

A long long long time ago a friend was in desparate need for a prepay top up so I used my credit card online (I think) to get money on her card. I think in total I might have used my credit card twice.

A not so long ago I had a request from another friend for the same request to use my credit card to put on his phone. Being the nice guy I am I tried to do the same thing for him but it would not work. I rang the help desk (this was pre Egypt) and the person I spoke to said that my credit card number was linked to another mobile and so I could not use it to put credit on my friends phone. At the time I didnt understand how this could be until I remembered that a long long time ago I used it for the first friend. I explained this to the rep but was told there was nothing I could do unless I could find that mobile number. Now the first friend has probably changed mobile phones and numbers more than 5 times since I helped so I am unable to supply the number. I didnt do anything at the time but it constantly comes up as a concern.

Does this mean that if that number were to be used again by someone else is there anyway my credit card could be compromised. I would imagine any charges would have to be by confirmation of credit card details so I am confident it wont happen but it still baffles me how my credit card is locked to a mobile number in the VF system.

I can appreciate why these measures were taken but if I dont remember the mobile number my credit card was originally used against then how can I release the card so I can use it again on another mobile? It looks like hotlink will do the job but it sort of bugs me that my credit card is locked against a mobile number I have no?way of finding.

DELETE FROM vodafone_registered_creditcards where cardno = 'XXXX'

This shouldn't be an issue for Vodafone to change.
