I cant seem to detect this card on a HP 2510p laptop- every version of VMC and VMC lite I have just 'searches for hardware' forever... The card is detected by Windows and works fine on an HP NC4200

Is there a different version that might pick it up??? Anyone know where Vodafone keeps their superseded software downloads??

Make sure the U630 has the latest firmware 14.5 (can be downloaded from Vodafone NZ site)

Also what OS are you trying to use the U630 on?

Hi

I'll def try the latest firmware- I'll do some searching to find it tomorrow. Its running on bog-standard XP Pro. We use huawei e800 and VMC lite without a hitch on the same hp machines, its just these slightly older cards that seem to give trouble for some reason...

Hi-ho,

I'm using a U630 in my Tosh M2, it works just fine, if not slow compared to the newer cards..  It's fine for what I want though, which is webmail and rdp/ssh/vpn connections to do remote support type work.

It came with mobile connect V5.0

If you're still stuck with this I can burn you a copy of the CD, or put an ISO up somewhere...

Cheers, Chris H.
