I am not expecting free stuff but $5 for not even 1GB of off-peak data is not a deal

My friend got offered 500 NZ SMS for $5 when they are on an unlimited NZ / AU SMS included prepay bundle

Linux

Edit : last few months offerings are really bad pricing on some offerings has increased by 500%

They really have gone to crap. Also offering 2 calling ones and a single data one is a bit crap too. I remember that before the unlimited SMS they would have one of each type of deal in there. Still have had the odd international SMS deal in the past but they should see that I never use the cellular services for international communications so stop offering useless things.

From what I understand the 'good' deals were a limited time introductory/promotional offering that ended in June.

@yitz are you kidding? It's changed recently and Fantastic Friday offers have been in market a number of years as mentioned not related to the free offers $0.00 I don't mind paying but getting ripped off I do mind

I used to always get some useful onpeak data offer or sometimes some offpeak totally free or gigs for $1 or something. Not anymore.

Agree, it is not new so not 'introductory' but certainly a promotional drive from late last year till June this year where they offered very cheap/free calling and data on a frequent basis to existing customers who had installed the app.

@yitz nothing to do with installing the App as you can call 321 and get the offers when they were free or cheap

I wonder if they've got some good algorithms behind this, and based on your usage and carryover , they tweak the offerings to maximise their revenue.

I find I get offered x gb for $0 every few weeks , to retain my interest.

At present its enough to keep me with vodafone, there are other alternatives out there that may match your usage for less.

Sucks! Would be nice to get some on account love from time to time. I asked them to up our red share data allowance and they laughed at me. (not really, but they refused). Every other sector of on account has seen big data bumps recently. Even 1-2GB would be nice.

Agreed, though having said that, after a few months of blowing the cap on my red share data they bumped me up by 1GB without asking.

Though what I'm getting now doesn't quite match up with existing plans.

I guess I'm on some older deal that's benefited from some customer-targeted specials so from my experience they don't ignore On Account customers completely

To be fair I am not unhappy as an on account user, Vodafone has treated me pretty well over the years, I have gotten a few deals I probably shouldn't but it is a little hard not to envy those with 2-3GB more data a month than I get. Esp since the extra data is so expensive comparatively.

Mine is 500mb for 2 dollars for 7 days. But prepay do seem to pay more on casual rates anyway. But I suspect if you take him up the deal, it potentially may not be as good next time, as my parents deals aren't as good and they take them up more often.
