BAHAHAHAHA! I did not realise this was bought up by MyRepublic! Of all the providers to complain about misleading advertising!

Maybe the irony was the reason the motion was not ruled as misleading ;)

There's still a Comcom investigation in progress I believe.
RunningMan:How about telling us about it rather than just dropping a link
I think it's time we all wrote complaints to the ASA ourselves.

Interesting read. I do agree that for most people, the 'end user' experience will not be noticeably different, and also that anyone who actually cares will know enough to know the differences between the different products.
But I still think calling a cable network 'FibreX' has to be misleading. How can it not be?
Thanks for the link.
Ok, started reading - first sentence... It's an ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) complaint. I don't think those guys are technically minded and I think the thread title should be "ASA deems FibreX not misledading" because as it is sounds like the end game is here.
Funny thing is that they confirm the words can be misleading when Fibre/Cable/UFB are used but they still think overall it's not.
As someone mentioned, wait for the ComCom investigation.
