Ok whats the deal with the New Vodafone Live, I have read and heard that using Bebo and Wikipedia is free, but I sent an email about a Week and a half ago to vodafone asking them to clarify just in case, I finally got a reply today (good work vodafone, nice to see the quick response /s.) that said

"The cost for accessing any websites (including Bebo and Wikipedia) incurs a charge of $10.00 per MB.

I hope this helps and have a great day.

If you have any further questions please reply to this email, call our Customer Contact Centre on 777 from your Vodafone mobile, or 0800 800 021 from any other phone. From overseas you can contact us on + 64 9 355 2007."

So whats, the truth is it free or $10.00/MB? Or was the Rep getting confused with the proper i.e. non mobile versions

Thanks
Patrick

Accessing bebo and wikipedia outside of Vodafone live will cost $10 per meg on prepay or on acc (unless you have a data plan)

Rep must of been confused! if you went into bebo by typing in www.bebo.com in your mobile browser you will be charged standard data rates!

In Vodafone live its FREE!!! $0 Zip nothing!!

Hope this clears things up!!

John

Walled gardens such as Vodafone live! are such a bad idea. And even more because people don't know what is and what is not being charged, and also because we can't trust Vodafone's systems to do it right.

Telcos have to come to realise they are in the business of moving bits and content. Not providing content.

bebo, is free for me, but the videos are not, that is because the videos refer you to youtube which does cost. :(
I made the same mistake!

Especially when Egypt cant tell you where your credit has gone other then "on internets".

Makes a mockery of the "vodafone live experience" when people are billed and don't know it.
