What's the policy on pinned topics? I notice the first one in this forum relates to a 3 year old router which is no longer supplied to customers (as of last month). I don't have any great suggestions for updates, just thinking it might be time for something different.

And staying on the meta note, do threads ever get locked? This thread popped up the other day with a new response - 2 years later. Also that FibreX 'congestion' thread - it was tagged as answered 30 pages ago and now there are posts in there about VDSL, new firmware, stability issues, UFB, etc.

Threads auto lock after a period of inactivity, but you can request a mod to unlock using the button at the end of the thread.

If there's an out of date pinned thread, then ask for it to be unpinned.

I requested that particular thread to be unlocked, as there was relevant updated information to the original thread. So generally threads are locked after inactivity, but can be reopened at Mod's discretion.

I think threads are locked after 90 days. Except if you're the thread author, they never appear locked in that case.

I think that easier than posting a topic asking what's the policy is just contact a moderator or myself and point out that something is out of date or could be moved. The list of moderators is present at the bottom of all forum pages.
