Call IHUG if you want to be treated like a complete n00b and told how to reset your router....

Seriously IHUG, that 10minute explanation on how to do stuff BEFORE you even get to the 1st phone menu is absolutely ridiculous!! I dont want the helpdesk, I want accounts so I can make some changes (that i cant do online). That message should be played after Ive selected helpdesk.

If noone knows what Im on about, call 0800438448 and enjoy........

<STILL on hold>

I remember that...

A voice over prompt just seconds after you press on the key pad for the operator goes through router reboots and for account management at my account (now My Vodafone) - that takes around 3 minutes to get through.

I wish there was a "press # to skip this message" function there.

No...this is worse... its gives you the message BEFORE pressing anything. So you ring... and go straight into that message. After that 10min message, then you get to press the option you want..... god help you if you do hit the helpdesk option, you probably have to go through that same message again.

"How can we reduce the volume of calls we have to answer with a human?"

"What, by automating stuff, and providing pre-recorded info?, or by annoying them so much they hang up with their problem unresolved?"

"Yeah... that..."

Implementation

Meanwhile... in another part of town...
