So, internet went dead tonight, Christchurch.

It is perhaps noteworthy or at least coincidental that today is my monthly rollover date and this proabbly happened around midnight, but I checked and I'm in healthy credit, so it's not billing.

It was working fine, and then it wasn't.

The Modem lights all look good.

But I can't even hit up the SB5101 status at 192.168.100.1.  I've never had that happen before.

Anybody got any good ideas other than turn-it-off-and-on-again (which I have done several times).

I've been avoiding changing plan so that I could keep the 5101, I don't want to be messing with my network setup if I can avoid it at the moment.

If I change the WAN IP & Gateway on my router to assign it as 192.168.100.100 (with gw 192.168.100.1) then I can access the status page of the modem, but can't get past the modem, so at least I know the ethernet port on the modem is functional, and so is my router, so....

I am beginning to winder if some Vodafone system has screwed up my IP address.

Somebody seems to have had similar symptoms back in 2009 down to an incorrect IP assignment but that was with a new install at the time: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=40&topicid=29995

Why would they have any need to change my IP.

Ugh.  I am not looking forward to trying to make a support call about this.

And magically everything just starts working again, including modem status page (with my static IP back in place) and internets.

On the off chance it was some anonymous lurking Vodafone genie, thanks. laughing

Get it swapped out dude.

Its due to your subnet on the router. Set it to 255.255.0.0...
