Can some Xnet users on 128k upload, goto www.speedtest.net and run the Auckland test and let me know your ping results please. Not interested in speed, just your response time.

Asking as I thought Id see slightly lower ping times to WxC that what im getting (approx 130ms)

Friend on full rate both ways is getting 23ms. :) Lucky sod ;-p

Thanks :)

I get 34ms to Auckland server FS/FS. But tbh, the speedtest site is a bad representation of actual speeds and pings. Better to type into command prompt 'ping www.recoilforums.com' (without apostrophe, also that site is NZ)

Ping times also depend where in the country you are to the server, and also the biggest factor is whether you have interleaving on or not. Ping times will be lower with interleaving switched OFF than when interleaving is on.

While you're 100% correct on this the speedtest.net ping results don't appear to be accurate, no matter how or when you test them. They show results that vary very significantly to standard ping or tracert results.

Yes they are HTTP "ping" tests, not an ICMP ping test
