My sister and her family currently have a Vodafone rural broadband connection at their place.

They are moving to a new place next week, that is just across the valley from their existing place.

As far as I can tell both properties are covered by the same tower.

They are about 1km apart, if that.

The new place is covered by 4G PnP, according to the Vodafone coverage map.

Vodafone want to charge them a $99 install fee as well as sign up to a new 2 year contract, for the move!

Surely they could just take the router with them and plug it in at the new place and carry on?!

Maybe there is an install required but making them sign up to another 2 year contract is bad form Vodafone!

Their current 2 year contract ends in June this year so I'm advising them to change providers then, unless someone on here from Vodafone can come up with a better deal?

@CYaBro

Feel free to message me details as that doesn't sound right at all.

a) No need to resign

b) No install fee *unless* they need an aerial moved and installed at new place

Please pass along apologies for the mis-information. Keen to know who they spoke to, so we can correct.

Cheers
