This Linksys router has been giving trouble probably capacitor overheating. Tried to sort it out with Linksys no luck they eventually told me the router had incorrect serial No. I understood it had 3 year warranty bought it off a friend going overseas.
Need my voip lines back up.

Incorrect Serial Number? They couldn't find it or doesn't exist? Pirated Router? I presume you double clecked the serial number.

Double checked serial number I have never heard of pirated router? Came with World xChange label etc. Do you know how long these things should last it is about 2 years old. My Nokia is about 10.

Found box and copy of receipt. Purchased at DSE on 5/2/2007 box says 3yr limited warranty? There is a lot of discussion on Whirlpool.net.au re WAG54GP2. I'm suffering the symptoms a lot of people seem to be (ethernet ports dropping out, and then not working at all). It will "connect" but not properly (limited functionality) at 10mbps.

I had my one of these modems die also in january.. after more than a year of solid reliable use.. rang linksys.. who were useless..

gave up.. found receipt.. went to dse.. they said no problems..

they said.. go grab one off the shelf.. they had no stock.. told me to get another brand.. but i explained there was nothing that did the same thing..

so 100% refund of purchase price..

then ordered one direct from techpac.. at less than half the original price and having used the one that faulted for over a year :-)

The only problem was the 4 months i had to wait for techpac to get stock of these devices..

i have vfx back now.. yay

Thanks

I had same useless support from Linksys.

I will try DSE today.

Is it possible to use DrayTek equipment with Xnet vfx?

I hear it is more reliable.
