Didn't think it would be long before this happened:

In 2005, we were proud to be the first to offer you 3G. In 2014 we were thrilled to bring you New Zealand’s first 4G network.

Now, we’re incredibly excited to announce that we’re exploring the future possibilities of a fifth generation mobile network – aka 5G.

To find out more about the road to Vodafone 5G, join us on Facebook LIVE, Tuesday 27 March 2018 at 11.15am.

With gigabit speeds over a mobile network and low latency connectivity, futuristic applications like connected robots and live virtual reality streams are quickly becoming things that we can use in our everyday lives. Join us to find out more and get a window on the future.

Vodafone Future 5G. The future is exciting. Ready?

Won't this mean a cellphone tower on every single block? You know, those evil things parents hate near little Johnny's school, but love the tech it enables. undecided

I'm still waiting for 4G to work properly. Every evening at around 9 pm our RBI goes to hell and streaming is impossible. I would love 5G, but even more I would love adequate capacity on our 4G tower. Shouldn't they fix that first?

Change to a network that has a better managed 4G service if possible? ;)

It's not broken just needs extra capacity for streaming peak time, This thread is about 5G which is a future technology not 4G so start another thread on the capacity issues

Not really possible from my location. I keep hoping for improvement. I can't be the only one who is having problems from this.

Vodafone have just put up a new 4G tower 100M from the house this morning, so now can not only bask in the sun but in Vodafone 4G from the lounge. Always nice having a cell tower in direct unobscured line of sight.
