What universal remote do you have, if its a oneforall it will need to be a 5device one with a satellite or cable key option. Also I assume you have TCL digital, if so the URC7950 for instances try for teh cable selection 1230 or 1269 these match the ADB digital box.

Which STB do you have?

I have that remote and it works fine with my STB, I cannot remember which one I have though. It is a digital STB, with no s-video support as far as I remember.

The model without SVIDEO is exactly the same box as the one with.

However, I've just looked at Logitech compatiability site...

Digital Set Top Box
Advanced Digital Broadcast
i-Can 3000C

Looks like the Harmony natively supports the set top box.

(on a side note, I was going to get one of these remotes but decided to stick with my Pronto RU940.. just managed to get a near new charging cradle for it.. Old Skool!) 8-)

Thanks for the information, Dick Smith has the Harmony 525 on special at the moment so I'll pop down tomorrow and purchase one.

I have a Samsung PS42Q TV and would like to use its remote to control the Telstra STB as well.  The TV manual comes with a list of Cable or STB manufacturers that has a 3 digit code I can enter into the remote.

However I can not locate the Telstra STB manufacturer in this list. Am I correct in thinking this is ADB?

Does anyone use a Samsung TV remote to control their STB?

Cheers

Yes.. the abbreviated name is 'ADB'.. short for the full name 'Advanced Digital Broadcast'
