Some quotes in this article that I thought were interesting:

Stanners..."is reported as claiming he has achieved his goal of turning Vodafone into the country's "number one telco"."

If their customer service is anything to go by, he has a long, long way to go.

While I'm not a fan of Sky, their customer service is actually (from my experience) vastly better than Vodafone's. At least they answer the phone and their reps know what they're talking about instead of transferring your call endlessly to "the right department".

Out of the frying pan into the fire indeed.

And this, https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/industries/104012339/spark-to-sell-sky-tvs-fan-pass-with-more-sports-deals-on-the-table in my just created thread. Seems that Sky and Vodafone may not be joined at the hip after all?

I found sky to be particularly awful in my experience.

eg, changing a credit card, needed to mail in a form. Couldn't do this online.

Still better than Vodafone, from my experience...that's assuming they pick up the phone without making you wait all week.

Wouldn't surprise me if Russell moved to another position within Vodafone. Vittorio is moving on, and Nick Read is replacing him, so there are are a few positions moving around.

That is the only thing I’ve found bad on Sky’s service side.
Everything else has been top notch. Phone answered quickly, people answering phone know what they are doing.

Vodafone number one, wonder how he defines being number one.
They are number one in bad service In my opinion.
Hope he doesn’t go to Sky.

Like I said in another thread, in a recent Consumer magazine, Vodafone were rated worst at almost everything, especially customer service. Does he read/know about articles like that, or does he even care?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.
