I am investigating changing to Vodafone TV which includes their Fibre install etc.  Currently on VDSL with VNGS (ex WXC).  I also have MySky HD as well.  I was considering the Vodafone Premium package as it has everything, and even with everything we will still end up saving approx $40 a month.  (sky $123.00 and Wxc $111.00)

My thoughts to date are: how does the multi-room option work with the Vodafone TV?  I understand TV can be used on the TV plus 1 other device at a time.  I don't wont to watch TV on a device, I want to watch TV on the other 5 TV in the house.  (3 TVs are smart TVs)

Also, as Vodafone TV includes Sky,  are you still able to use the SKYGO app or website to watch sky content on a laptop (windows10)

I tried online chat with Vodafone who couldn't answer my exact questions and just wanted a rep to ring me.   I've spoken with non tech pers re their installs and use, and get conflicting answers.

Any thoughts and feedback welcomed.

Thanks.  Richard

Isnt the Vodafone TV app the SkyGo equivalent for Vodafone TV users?

I'm guessing that as a VodafoneTV subscriber that you're no longer a Sky subscriber and hence wouldnt have access via SkyGo (although I'm just speculating).  It would be difficult to understand why any wholesaler would allow different retailers to have access to other retailers product offerings (in this case Sky wholesales to both retailers: 1. Vodafone and 2. Sky's directly subscribed customers)

My mum has the original VF TV box. SKYGO app works with her details.

The Sky Go app does not work with our new Vodafone TV service. Instead, customers can use our dedicated Vodafone TV app.

Each TV would need a Vodafone TV decoder. We are only able to offer up to 2 Vodafone TV decoders per connection (via Multiroom), so it would not be possible to have all 5 TV's running off Vodafone TV.

Please also note, Vodafone TV Intro cannot have Multiroom.

Hope this helps to clarify things.

SimonVF:  Thanks for clarifying that for me.    Question re the App, does it work on Smart Tv's ie Samsung and Sony?

No worries :)

The Vodafone TV App only works on a mobile/tablet device running Android or iOS. No other devices can be used with the App.

The T box has a modulator that allows you to connect it to all 5 Tv's if that's what you mean, albeit watching the same programme

But the T-Box is no longer being offered to new customers, is it?  Supported, yes but sold, no?

Yes, that's correct.

Thanks for all the input.

I think I will stay with  my current setup for a while longer.  Don't want to watch tv on a small device, elsewhere in the home.  Also, believe the Vodafone app is limited to your local wifi connection and cant be used elsewhere like a bus, train or work office which is limiting.  At least with SkyGo you can use it anywhere on any device or laptop/PC.

I would like some input on if this is the case... RE Vodafone TV app working on 3G/4G regardless of location
