I've found what appears to be a bug with the latest firmware version V2.01.06 for this router.
It causes the DHCP IP reservation feature to stop working, leaving any devices listed in the MAC address section unable to contact the DHCP server at all.

I've had my router replaced once already, and the firmware that came on the device V2.01.03 DIDN'T have this problem with DHCP, but I had not made the link when I proceeded to upgrade the router to the latest version.

My question is does anyone have a copy of the old firmware version (2.01.03) which I can put back on my router, until such time as Linksys fix the bug?

Any help would be appreciated.

I had that problem before with my WAG54GP2v2 (with firmware 2.01.06), I eventually re-flashed the firmware with the 2.01.06 on the linksys site, and haven't had that problem since. At first I thought the problem was the firmware, then I thought my problem was a bad flash, but maybe it is something to do with that firmware version...

yeah, the last support tech mentioned that, and asked me to re-flash the firmware with the ADSL line disconnected, and my NIC set to half duplex, but the problem is still there unfortunately.'

Sorry, just had a quick look around and I only have the 2.01.06 firmware lingering about on my PC..
I must say that I would not reccommend this device to anyone anymore - although to be fair mine has actually been behaving itself of late (shock horror!!).

I was thinking about replacing it with something else, but after looking around, I'm not sure the alternatives are much better to tell you the truth. It seems most brands have various quirks, or are lacking in features.

I basically need a rock solid ADSL2+ modem, 4 port switch, router with firewall, DHCP server, access control, parental filtering/access scheduling functions. I'm not too worried about the wireless or VoIP phone to tell you the truth, I can just get a PAP2T phone adapter if needed.
