I am on FibreX200 in Wellington and always used to get right near the 200mbps download speed (ethernet cabled desktop).

It may be coincidence but since the last router upgrade things 'seemed' a little slow, so this morning I ran a few speed tests … and
averaging 75 - 80mbps only!

Just me or anyone else in Welly getting this today?

Quick question, what is the upload speed you get and to what speed test servers?

Used Ookla with Vodafone servers in Wgton and then one in Chch … upload was around 20mbps.

FWIW I'm also on Fibre X in Wellington (Island Bay) and getting approx 600/80 on the gigabit plan which is normal enough. Using an ER3 and ethernet to test.

Related question: All the speedtest sites I've seen/used display a clockface that goes from 0 to 100mbps …. so what happens when my connection is greater than that?

Do I add the resultant figures to 100? Will the pointer go off the scale for connections faster than 100mbps? Can the dial scale be changed (Ooklah for example)?

You say in your first post you use to see close to 200Mbps

Now you ask in this post what does it look like when it goes over 100Mbps ?

Clearly you already know what it looks like as you have seen close to 200

You should also mention what part of Wellington as VodafoneNZ have many tons of fibreX equipment around the region

Update: I downloaded Ookla's stand-alone program for Windows, and installed it on the desktop.

Using that I notice two things, namely that the speedo-dial goes up to 500, and my download speeds are indicated at between 198 and 201mbps.

So, why the difference between the website programs and the stand-alone one?
