I am about to sign up to the Xnet Fusion and VFX phone,I currently have the phone line with Telecome and using Xnet ADSL.I have read the following "Need to Know"

"Current Xnet Broadband Customer with Number Porting:Current Xnet customers can churn to Fusion without charge or contract as long as they are a Telecom Line holder. Note: there can be an outage of up to 6 hours. Before the order is placed, the existing phone number to be ported will be moved to a 'Custom Link' service (check with your current supplier for charges). A number port fee of $19.69 is applicable per number ported"

And I wonder if I want to keep my existing phone number (of Telecom phoneline) to transfer to the VFX phone,a part from paying for the fee of $19.69.Do I have to pay any fee to Telecom?Anyone have swiched before please help.Thank you very much

No you do not have to pay Telecom anything, they charge us $19.69 to port the number so this is the cost we charge, apart from that as long as you have a router and one of the certified devices then there is no other setup charges.

Calling the sales team will give you more of an idea, they are on 0800123456.

No, this should be fine, it has a PSTN FSO port which can be tricky to setup for the PSTN side as we leave this to you Wink,  but from he SIP side all should be good.

Just for your reference
0# will allow you dial out using the pstn instead of the VFX line if required.

You can plug a normal phone line into this box, and maverick's mentioned if you want to make calls out over that phone line rather than over VFX dial 0# to do this.

You need to create a dial plan unless you want to dial 0# to access the standard PSTN line.

For example, to use VFX for all calls and prefix with 1 to dial via PSTN ---> (1xx.<:@gw0)|xx.) Should be the dial plan.

For a more advanced dial plan let us know and we will try to help.

Usually you just get the next available number for your region and don't have any choice.  Maybe Maverick can do something to help?

I don't think you're able to pick a number, I think you just get the next number that's available.  Try calling the WxC sales team to see if you can request a specific number.

EDIT: grant_k bet me to it

You would have recieved an email with your details, it has the user details there including your phone number , web portal logon and voicemail passwords , and you would have had to use this when you set up your Voicemail in the first instance.

Well, that's interesting as I don't receive any email from Xnet since I signed up to Fusion.I had to call Xnet help desk and ask for the password to log in to Web portal.and I can set up to access to the voice mail now.

Thank you very much, somehow I just received it.I still waiting for my telecome phone number to be ported to VFX.but the temporary phone number which xnet give me.I think the caller ID display has some problems.

*theVFX phone number is 950xxxx and when someone call me the display is alway appeared 950xxxx instead of display the number calling from.

For example: I use my mobile 0211xxxxxx to call to my VFX 950xxxx.I see my homephone's caller display is still 950xxxx.It should display as 0211xxxxxx.Could you please have a look.Thank you very much
