Hi folks,

I'm using the advanced feature pack for my VFX line (the mobile office worked great for me last weekend by the way). And I'd like to have my mobile phone ring at the same time - now if I pick up the call (or it goes to voicemail) on the VFX line rather than me answering my mobile, will I be charged at all for the mobile call?

What I'm getting at is it would be nice for both to ring, and I have the choice of answering either (can therefore recieve calls out of office without needing to enable forwarding) - but I don't want to do this if I'm going to be paying the minimum call fee for a mobile every time a call comes through.

Yes your correct, if you pick it up at your mobile its a land line to mobile call, so if they both ring you pick up where you want to so SIM ring would work here.

EDIT:
Forgot to answer the first part, no you would be charged if voicemail or you pick up the vfx line, you will only be charged the mobile rate if you anwser it on your mobile

I would tend to think no you wouldnt get charged mobile rates for every call if you answered it on your VFX phone or it is answered on your VFX voicemail as your mobile has nothing to do with the answering of the call. It would only be calls that you answer on your mobile that would pick up the charges.

Another point to note: if mobile phone is off or out of coverage, then the call would be answered by your mobile voicemail, thus becoming a chargeable call diversion.

Good point. I imagine it would be the same if I was already on my mobile and someone rang the vfx number - they would get the phone voicemail again?

If you have call waiting on your mobile, you should be fine (assuming you've setup VFX VM to kick in before mobile VM does). Obviously if you do answer the waiting call on mobile, then call charges as usual.

Thanks for the advice. I'll see how I go with it set up this way - It may be a little messy, ideally if someones called the VFX number they would be better off getting the VFX voicemail rather than my mobile phones. But it's not a bad compromise in those situations I suppose.

Yea, as long as you have VFX go to VM sooner than mobile goes to VM, then it will work well most of the time. Make a few test calls and tweak the VFX VM rings to answer, until you get it right.
