Not XNET, but NZ server at ftp://ftp.citylink.co.nz/ubuntu-releases/ or if you fancy the sneakernet approach, the July APC Mag cover DVD has iso's of V8.04, both Desktop & Server installs.

yeah... I use apt-cacher, so I'm only downloading updates/installs once... seems to work well, but a local traffic cache would be awesome...

Well i directly asked xnet and they don't. Maybe more people need to inquire about it? Local content really costs very little for xnet to deliver to the end user.

heres another vote for linux mirrors, would save xnet a bundle on international bandwidth.

i wonder if they could start a first and create a server to host alot of different distributions and only xnet users could get them. like a cache proxy. or a torrent tracker/file server to help lessen the load on international bandwidth.

There is ftp.wicks.co.nz which is local and holds the mirror for RedHat/CentOS.

Cheers,
