Has anybody else noticed their WXC (now Vodafone Nextgen services) VOIP line go down? Apparently the domain name for wxc.co.nz expired this morning at 3am.

May the farce be with you!

Yep, you're not alone.

Looks like both the xnet.co.nz and wxc.co.nz domains have expired. Wow.

Looks like it went offline about 5.15pm Saturday.

0800 123 456 is the call centre number.

Call the call centre (not open until 10.00 on Sunday, that's OK), but the network status message relates to scheduled maintenance on the 11th April, just a wee bit out of date?

Where are you seeing them showing as expired (other than that page)? A whois shows they're not.

Drop either domain into a web browser and it returns a domain expired generic page.

stun.wxnz.net is pointing to 209.99.40.223 which doesn't seem right either

It's a hijack or redirect of some sort - the actual domain isn't expired... Unless they expired and somebody has reregistered them but kept all the details the same to make it look legit.

Looks like redirects of the various domains going to fwd.datafoundry.com

This seems to be working again now - at least the wxc.co.nz is correct for me.

Interestingly it’s a DNS caching issue. If I use Spark mobile or the google dns the name resolves correctly, if I use Vodafone, Warehouse mobile or OpenDNS it returns the expired page.

Just tried from a Voyager connection, no go. Local DNS flushed first, but TTL is coming back under 5 mins anyway.

Just got the IP address from Google DNS and added to my VOIP config instead of the pan.wxnz.net and it connected fine, looks like they left it a bit late to renew the DNS and a number of providers have not flushed the old expired details yet, things will probably return to normal once everybody updates their caches. Interesting that Vodafone's DNS has it wrong given they own them.

dnc.org.nz reporting wxc.co.nz last modified at 9.17 this morning. Hopefully propagates through quickly.

The domain lapses at the end of this month, so something else happened there. Some wrong DNS configuration perhaps?

Also their NS is registered until the end of this month. Better Vodafone remember to renew both wxc.co.nz and wxnz.nz.

Also I see wxnz.net expired yesterday.

@MikeHales might want to follow this one too.
