How reliable your source of rumors ;). I'd love to see the new plan. However, I doubt if there is any new plan because if it's a good plan then early adopters must feel gutted => bad image for VF, unless there's a way to migrate from current iphone plan.

Cant say the source is reliable, came from a friend who knows a friend who works for Vodafone (if you get what I mean). Just thought I would put the idea out there to see if anyone else had heard anything similar?....

Hmm, interesting.  I just found this little paragraph in an IT Brief article...
The good news for those that balked at the iPhone is that from August Vodafone will be releasing a new pricing structure for its handset stock and for mobile data. No word yet on how that will affect those already signed up to iPhone contracts.
My guess though is that the iPhone plans won't change.

When I visited a store last weekend to look at resigning I was told that new plans were being released in August. Not sure if this includes iPhone plans - I would think not.

If that is the case, I certainly hope it is tomorrow (although a Saturday would be an odd day for such a thing).

Even so... try not to be (over) excited... Learnt from the past, new != fantastic :D esp. toward to telco & fuel giants.

It would make sense for vodafone to release updated plans after the fallout from the release.

I was planning to buy an iPhone this weekend on Vodafone's txter plan plus a 1GB mobile data plan.

But after reading this post I'm wondering if this is a bad idea. I would hate to see a whole bunch of new plans come out after I have signed a 2 year contract.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens...

the ever extending talker/txter plans end August 31 so expect new plans then (not just iPhone).

If the iPhone plans may be ammended it could be worth signing up to one of those instead of the You Choose (txter)/Mobile 1GB combo. The iPhone plans just aren't a good fit for me in their current state.

I haven't been on a vodafone contract before so not sure what happens if new plans come out after you sign a contract. Is it usually pretty easy to change your plan if something better comes out?

We can but hope. They certainly need a re-think on those plans.

Mind you, I was told by a VF sales person in Queenstown on Thursday that the 1 Gb plan was still available and that he thought it was "an odd thing to do" to remove it from the website!

Interestingly the QT shop were expecting stock on Friday which never arrived. Told it would be Saturday - no, did not arrive. Told "maybe Monday". I flew back to Wellington....!

Perhaps Apple are being harder on them with stock than we think?

I just had alook at the iphone plans that virgin mobile in Australaia are offering and it really shows how mush of a bad deal we got in New Zealand
