Hey guys and girls,

I have a Ultra Hub (H500-t) recently upgraded to vodafone fibre. I have an existing HG659. I would like to use this HG as a bridge. Could someone give me some instructions as to how to create this? I have a LAN cable that can connect my Ultra hub to the HG I'm guessing (LAN 1 -Ultrahub <---> WAN - HG659). I'm stuck at the internet setting pages of the HG. Any help would be good at this point :) Thanks everyone.

DHCP or static, your choice (or don't use the WAN interface).

Note: HG WAN and LAN have to be on different networks for any routing to occur.

What are you trying to do?

"Bridge" to me infers you want to connect the HG659 as a wireless bridge to provide Ethernet connectivity. That's not something it can do.

Sounds like the OP wants to use the hg659 as a wireless AP, cabled to his Ultra hub. This can be done.

The post that sums it up most succinctly is:

Thanks so I got this

1. Login to it
2. Navigate to Home Network -> LAN Interface
3. Scroll down to DHCP Server  and untick it (disable the DHCP server)
4. Scroll back up to LAN Interface settings.
5. Assign an IP address in there which is on your network outside your existing DHCP settings in your other router (eg. 192.168.1.1 -> 192.168.1.100) I would assign it something easy to remember such as 192.168.1.200.
6. Save the settings.

You will lose connection to the router as it changes IP address. Now plug a lan cable into one of the LAN plugs on the switch and into one of the LAN plugs on your HG659.

--------------------------------------------------------

DHCP Server is now unticked.

Under #5 I used 192.168.1.200

Plugged the LAN cable from LAN 1 of the Ultra hub ---> LAN 1 of the HG659

I don't seem to have internet connection :( any way to resolve this issue or have I done something wrong ?
