Hi, I'm currently on fibre 100/20, and want to upgrade to fibre max for streaming, but my situation is I don't have wire connection in my room only wifi, I bought a good wireless adapter which has 5g bandwidth and can reach up to 433mbps speed rate(both download and upload). my signal quality is excellent due to the router is only a wall in between. the Fibre max could go up to 900mbps/s download and 450mbps/s upload, I don't expect I could get full speed, just wondering anyone is in the same situation as me connect to the internet via wifi and what is your speed? for example, your wireless adapter could receive 900mb download and upload, and your fibre plan is 900mb down and 450mb up. and your signal quality is in very good condition and what speed you have. thanks

Streaming does not require 100s of Mb/s

Yeah, Vodafone fibre max could have 450mb/s upload, but if I could get 100-200mb/s upload I'm also satisfied, I need at least 100mb/s because you will have to divide by 10 to get the actual upload speed so it will be around 10mb/s.

Yes, not enough, my actual upload is only 1.9mb/s, I need at least 5-10mb/s.

If you’re on 100/20 but only getting 1.9 up then it’s likely an issue with your setup and moving to a gigabit plan probably won’t make any difference.

What is your setup and what results do you get when doing a speed test? Test over ethernet too not wifi.

Fibre Max will not help in this case, You need to work out and fix the Wi-Fi

a 433mbps adapter will give true world speeds of about 200mbps (25MB/s) you will likely never see full speed even with the best wireless adapters.

Sorry, it was my fault, I didn't state it clearly, my actual upload speed 1.9mb/s is meant to be 20mb/s upload speed as all ISP advertised its speed you will have to divide it by 10 to get your real upload speed and for download speed is divided by 8

Sorry totally lost me with the above post!

If you test the speed over Ethernet what do you get? Make sure you test to a VodafoneNZ server

Yes, my adapter is 650mb, but if connect to 5g it will be 433mb, but it doesn't say is it for download or upload speed rate, or is for both, because it also depends on ISP. fibre max gives 400-450mb/s upload via ethernet connection, if I could get something around 100-200mb/s upload I'm happy.

you dont divide anything by ten its divided by 8 for upload and download to change mega bites per second (Mbps) to mega bytes per second (MB/s)

you need to make sure you are using the correct units when describing internet speed, as its measured in Mbps or if its slow Kbps.

Atm I'm on fibre 100/20, the download and upload speeds are the same either wifi or Ethernet.

the adapter can only receive or transmit at a single moment, so its aggregated over both.

you mention streaming, so why do you need 100-200Mbps for upload?

You talked about streaming but as above 100/20 is more than enough for streaming, there’s a problem with your setup.

Ha, sorry I'm always confused with the units conversion but anyway, my real max download speed is 12MB/S, and max upload is 1.9-2MB/S(only tested via uploading files to Onedrive, I never get up to 2.5MB/s upload yet)
