My RBI connection is currently working with a single external antenna. The indicated signal strength is "pretty good" on B28:

Late night / early morning speedtest usually delivers 45 - 48 Mb/s down, which I gather is about right for a single antenna. But in the evenings it will be commonly be as slow as 10 Mb/s. I expect that if I installed a dual MIMO antennae that late night speed might approach 100 Mb/s.

My question is whether it would make any material difference to the evening performance, which seems to be controlled by tower congestion rather than the native connection quality.

But, does that still apply when limited by congestion?

Still can help as you become a bit more efficient in the RB your using... but it is more of a high end option rather than a general user thing

Results will vary, but usually helps give you a slightly bigger slice of the available capacity when tower is under load.

From memory, vodafone have a list of congested towers where they ask RSPs to install mimo antennas so that they can optimise airtime, increasing throughput

So if your time slots are limited by congestion, its best to make the most of those time slots by going mimo instead of siso.
