Just noticed tonight that the onscreen menus on Saturn are a bit bigger than normal and switching between channels and time slots is a lot quicker. Anyone else seen this? Any other info on the changes?

The Options Button on the remote also brings up a quick menu Cool

I notice there is a mail feature in the menu, must be so that Telstra can advise of issues etc???

Thanks for the link - some good fixes in there, especially the return of favourite channels!

Capability to abort retrieving of extended EPG Info You can now abort retrieving extended information in the EPG/Banners should it be taking too long.

I've been stuck many times with the EPG freezing when trying to get info on a future programme, so this is welcome.  However, I thought this freezing was a symptom of the ARP flood, which should be fixed now.  Right???

How exactly do you abort the retrevial?

I tried exit & back, and all of the other buttons on the remote lst night (except power), and it just kept the banner stuck where it was.

Cheers

Can you re-produce the problem?  If not then it was probably a one-off thing.
Think of the stb as a low powered PC.. even stb's need a reboot every so often :)

Anyone else having problems with favourite channels? My box is telling me this is unavailable (just rebooted too).

You have to enable the feature first. There's a setting somewhere in the options.

You have to turn the feature on after adding channels.

1/ Go into the menu and add channels to the list.. save
2/ Exit back out to TV.. there should be a green button on the banner 'Favourites On'
3/ Press the Green button.. text will change to 'Favourites Off'

Pressing the channel up/down buttons will now cycle through your favourite channels list.

Thank you all!
I only changed to digital 4 months ago, after 4 and a half years of analogue, for playhouse disney as my daughter got older. And now I get UKTV without having to watch Rialto (which was only good about 5 random times in 4 years).

How do you set repeating reminders?  I've been all through the menus but can't see any option for this.

Set a reminder like you usually would, via the reminder screen.  In the Date/Day field use the left/right arrows to move through the week..  once you get prior to the current date or end date of the week the 'days' options display.

Valid reminders are:

Everyday
Monday to Friday
Saturday & Sunday
Every Monday
Every Tuesday
Every Wednesday
Every Thursday
Every Friday
Every Saturday
Every Sunday

You can do the same via the EPG, but it's a two step method.. Set your reminder by selecting the programme in the EPG...
Back out to the main menu, then go to the reminders menu and edit the reminder you just set via the EPG.  It will let you tune the reminder so it repeats etc.

Cheers,
Grant

Thanks Zolly.

Well that was not at all obvious.  There are so many things that are braindead about the UI of that box. :/

What's braindead about that?

'Repeating Reminders'... and it's in the 'Reminders' setup.. makes perfect sense! :)
It would be braindead if it showed up under 'Mail' for example wouldn't it? ;)

Cheers,
Grant
