Hi all,

For quite a while now my wife and I have been on vodafone mobile plans, we each get the $39 plan for $29 as we are both signed up, this plan gives us around 2.5GB of data and 300 mins.

Now we are looking into what we can do to have more data as we do not have quite enough to last us the month now and have seen a plan on their website which is a $39 plan (like we both have now) and it gives 5Gb of data, this looked great but when I rang they said they could not give us a discount on this plan even if we both signed up.

As far as I am aware Vodafone providing discounts for multiple plans has always been standard practice, have they really dropped it or did I just get a bad sales person? if they have drooped it ill give Spark a call and see what they can do for me.

First time I've ever heard of them offering discounts for multiple people signing up. I've never heard of Spark or 2D offering this either.

All have shared plans for multiple users, but that's very different to what you have.

In my experience, around May last year it became harder to get decent discounts. Slowly getting worse from then.

The three $99 red 22gb plans we had were 1x $79, 2x$49, and two of them had free Note8s. I have tried, and you definitely can't get that now, no matter who you talk to.

So to answer your question, yes, you were able to once. Now the standard discount is more like $10 per connection over and above the $10 broadband discount.

Take a look at 2degrees also - https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/mobile/pay-monthly/

I am personally on the 25gb Pool plan with my partner. There is plenty of data to go around. You also get the advantage of rollover data and unlimited calling as well as 1hr free data per day. The 10gb shared plan comes in at the same cost as Vodafone however offers more.

You can do this a little cheaper by having your wife on Prepaid on the $10/mo plan and data sharing with her (which is free to do on 2degrees). This gives 100 carryover minutes per month and 250mb (and also a free hour of data every day) on top of whatever data you share with her (you can give her a monthly allocation of data from your plan).

If you sign up to Broadband through them you get $10 off per month on the broadband plan also.
