Every colour of the XR is out of stock on the VF website. It's available from Apple so seems to be still current.

Have VF chosen not to sell it anymore, does anyone know? My wife wants one to replace her 8.

Why would you keep stock when a new model is out!

I imagine it's an apple thing - 'you cant coexist your old stock with our new phones because of the optics of selling older stock at discount side by side with the new one'

If she really wants one then go to store - but I guess you're also hoping its on discount?

Can't be. The 8 is still on sale.

The XR doesn't appear to be discontinued. Is it?

Because you can buy 85% of the capability for $1250 instead of $2800?

The XR is still in the Apple line-up. It is not discontinued. For a superior buying experience at the same price, get it from Apple.

Both the 8 and XR are still current models, and both have dropped in price. The XR replacement is the 11, this is cheaper than the XR was at the beginning of the week, so I suspect the carriers don't want to be selling the XR for more until their own prices get revised.

I am surprised they are still selling the XR, but maybe their profits are more on that , than they are on the 11, as they aren't that much different for most users. I wouldn't be surprised if this years top selling iphone is still the XR unless they do drop it early next year with the 8. The 8 is supposed to be replaced with the SE, which is likely just the iphone 8 with updated internal specs.
