I changed from voda to other provider few months back and when i closed the account i accidentally overpaid voda by about $4 which i only came to know a month later.

so i thought sweet az, i will let it sit and claim it soon.

but now in the latest bill, they have wiped my account under pretext of " admin maintenance charges" and now my account is 0$

This is so not fair and right, I left my money in good faith and trust, and voda you took it for nothing , for providing me Zero service because i didnt have any existing connections with you.

Very poor - its not about the money , its just about the ethics of operation , and thats not ok  . i just think its not right.

At $4 its not worth them keeping it on the books, or paying it out.

I closed my broadband account a while back, it was in credit by about $43, VF didn't even bother sending me a final statement, well if that's the game they want to play, 2 can play, mobile account closed with money owing, haven't heard anything from them about that either.....

You probably won't until it gets to the collections stage. At that point they'll probably be all over you.
Funny how they take ages to fix/repair a service yet still expect customers to pay the full bill, yet if you owed them money...you'd probably never hear the end of it.
Usually :)

Yeah I had that problem with them slowly draining a dormant account with that scam charge

It took many phone calls to get sorted but got it all refunded

They are quite possibly the scummiest telco in the NZ market. It’s unfortunate my work phone is with them, otherwise I’ll never personally use them for anything

According to this page you have 6 months before the $5 charge a month starts, guessing they send a bill each month as it has the month before the charge starts it will be on the front page of previous months bill letting you know.

At bottom of that page is a link for a form to claim refunds.

The commerce commission in 1 June 2018 confirmed it had received complaints

Don't know if there's any update since then.

I looked at the form and can't see any submit button, or an address to snail mail if printed, maybe I'm not looking hard enough or it comes up when completed.

I got charged an early termination fee of $199, even though customer support said that would be waived because of the mid-contract price-increase!

They said they credited me back the money, but I still haven't received it!

Not unusual. Think how long many people wait for tradesmen to do jobs, build houses etc.

Bet none of them would allow you to adopt that method to paying them....

We have a mobile module in our gate electronics that allows you to ring the gate and open it.

It works on a pre pay SIM but the card never makes calls so the credit is never used. It expires and the SIM is disconnected if you don't add credit every 12 months though...

Also, fees for paying by debit card are annoying on my main phone account.
