Looks like Vodafone have sharpened their pencil on this one, but the catch is its on their Cable Network

I did query this via their Social Media team to ensure it wasn't a typo but it is legit

24 month term! No thanks

Cable network I could live with for sure but not that 24 month term, I wish a fibre plan was offered on 2degrees like 100/100 even 100/50 instead of 100/20

That's a good deal for a better upload speed than most provide, but their support rules them out for me. When my internet is down I want to call someone, not have to use my phone to email them.

Orcons gigantic is on sale at $85 a month at the moment. I'm giving stuff a try as theirs is $90 with 4 months free through broadband compare and only $99 break fee makes it fairly low risk to walk away, as long as I last 6 weeks it'll be cheaper than I currently pay for 200 service.

Just upgraded to this and it was a 12 month contract with a $20 per month discount, guessing they must have room to negotiate?

Door to door guys in Christchurch are offering HFC Max, any combination of Broadband/TV/Landline (not just just "Smart Connect") for the same price that 200 would've been. 12 month contract.

He seemed to put that "Max" is the new norm.

Also offering $20 discount for 1 year for existing customers. He said new customers can also get $200 credit but not existing ones

The website: is now offering HFC max for $73 on a 12 month contract (that's pretty sharp), That's the same price as Fibre 30 from Skinny.

However I then see this is including the $20 discount for 12 months, so it's normally $93.

Comparatively 2degrees and Orcon are doing gig fibre for $85 for 12 months (and then $99 or $110).

I know some people had issues with the service a few months back but have been on HFC max in Christchurch for almost 3 weeks (upgrade from 100/10) and have been quite happy with it and the ultra hub. Us "existing customers" have got the $20 discount for 12 months, even though the sales guy said we weren't getting $200 credit the emails say we are.
