So, had a iPhone 3G since launch, on our corporate account.

Seems Vodafone didn't configure their network correctly, so I'm not getting PXT's (used to have a PXT capable phone.)

They simply need to tick the box saying deliver to pxtworld.

Customer support won't help me because I don't have the company wide pin number.

Funny thing is THEY told me the pin number violating all sorts of privacy laws they now claim to protect a few months ago.

Why are Vodafone so hard to deal with?!?!?!?

A little search on google brought up this, ... but unless it is jail broken, .... not sure if it will work.

Once you quote the PIN there will be no issue.

Yes there are laws that have to be followed and this is drilled into the CSRs

Even when I have helped people online I still request the PIN. End of story

I understand the need for security, so employee's can't change plans, billing addresses etc, but when their network is misconfigured and the service they are supplying is faulted then why cannot the user of that device ask vodafone to fix it?!?!?!?

I never remember striking this with Telecom, if a customers phone line was broken I was still always able to log a fault.

This issue has always grated on me, either the owner of the account (and accounts can be hundreds or thousands of phones) has to authorise each fault request, or hand out the pin to those logging faults, which then gives them access to change anything they want.

Fault logging is different from Account management is all I'm saying.

Yes, inability to turn this off yourself is frustrating, like when I am going out drinking to take the 1100, sods law says someone will mms me and I will lose it. The problem is that the csrs seem to have no script for it, they tell you to pxt your self to make it work and all sorts of nonsence.

I think there's a pin number on each connection as well as a pin number for the customer account. Surely quoting the connection pin number would yield access to the connection in question? If you're in possession of said connection it would have been wise for you to have this pin anyway. As john said, privacy laws are strict but they're there for a reason. It's worrying you were given the pin as well. Do you remember the CSR's name? If so could you PM it to me please.

They would not accept the pin for the connection pin (i.e. my personal pin), not sure if this pin was retained when my account was transfered from my old company to the new one.

I do remember the CSR's name, it was during the iPhone madness, and to be fair I socially engineered it out of her so it's not really fair that I get her in trouble. I just found it amusing, and now fustrating.

The director was not amused that I had his pin, I think it's the same one he uses for his cashflow by the look on his face hehe.

The stupid thing is that you used to be able to turn this off yourself 2.5 years ago. There was a link on the My Vodafone page that took you to a pop-up PXT preferences page. This was a one-page web app that literally only had a couple of preferences checkboxes on it.

Unless I'm mistaken, there's been no change to Vodafone's underlying systems (MMSC etc.) so the old web app would probably work just fine if someone redeployed it today.

Have you heard that saying. It goes like "you get what you pay for". And in this cause its not the money but its what your paying for. So you paid for an iphone and thats what you got. If you dont like it because all iphones are made broken then tough lol. Next time lookinto what youre buying. If you had done that you would have saved the money and got one of these here. But no you had to have once cause everyone thinks there good. At least mine will go. Since you will be wanting a phone that goes i sugesst you get one of these to.

I understood that the iPhone didn't have PXT when I purchased it, and that it didn't have MMS.

You suggest I purchase a NVIDIA Tegra APX which isn't actually available until late next year?

It's not that I failed to realise what I was purchasing, or was unhappy with it, I am upset that Vodafone has yet again failed to correctly configure the service they are suppling to me, and when requested to fix their network fault (MMS not going to pxtworld) they refuse to log a fault.

pistolpower: Besides if you had waited you would have a pnd, which supports 720p, can play games , 720p screen and output, supports more audio formats than the ipod, upto 12mp camera lense and does dual display. Oh and the qaulity of the prouct and craftsmenship and brand name are all better than the iphone. Now you can defend your i phone cause i dont care. All i did was try and help you understand where you whent wrong. You brought the most expensive (aparently flashest in the world) phone ever. But those plans have been on nvidia for over a year now and there earlier concepts which they could have made and released at anytime where better. But i dont care. Do what you want.

Your spelling is horrific.

I have a lot of music in iTunes, both imported from CD, and purchased online. I don't need 720p on a device that I type SMS into, listen to music on and occasionally browse the internet on in a pinch. The camera is OK, if I want to do some serious photography, I'll use my professional camera.

As for helping me understand where I went wrong? You need a slap for being so rude.

I had a iPhone 2G, it had a cracked screen. The new iPhone came out, it worked with all my music, and I already knew how to use it. The app store has thousands of applications on it, many of which are useful to me.

I don't play games on my phone, and why would I need more audio formats. I don't even know what format my music is stored in within iTunes now. It just works. I can use coverflow, and all the dock in my car, my two iPod stereos and my chargers all work.

Your solution doesn't exist yet. The music application has yet to be written, suits a purpose I don't plan to use my phone for and your messages are rude and el!te. Wannabe Gang Star.
