Anyone got any details on the issues at Vodafone or if they have any ETA on when they will be fixed?

We've got about 7 staff on Vodafone internet mixture of adsl, vdsl and fibre who all keep getting kicked off our VPN constantly, all other staff not on vodafone working fine so we know its something to do with the Vodafone network.  Endpoint for the VPN is a hosted Fortinet firewall at CCL.

@gaddman might be able to help a little.

We are seeing the same issue with some of our users, I'm sure the folk over at vodafone are already on it though :)

Fortigate SSL VPN using the client?

we got a FortiGate SSL VPN on a none standard port, and it will not work on Vodafone, fine on any other network - tried to log a call on it to Vodafone, but got told they will not look at it till after level 4 -very helpful for working at home and not pinhole RDP etc not.

Yup were using the Forticlient.

Cool thanks for that info, good to know others are having the same issue.  That's dumb that Vodafone wont even look into it, it could be ages before level 4 is over.

@GRISDALE, @bagheera Have you got any more detail on it dropping, any packet captures for instance? There's no cache, firewall, or NAT on our fixed line service (other than your home router), so something like that could be either your home router setup or an MTU issue somewhere. Got an IP address you can share (privately if you prefer)?

If anybody else is managing the IT systems for remote workers and having problems that you've isolated to our network, please PM me or tag me in a post if you're not getting the help you need. Preferably after attempting to log a ticket and/or post here. I've no doubt the same goes for the other RSPs here - we're all trying our best to ensure NZ keeps working through this lockdown.

Firstly I really appreciate the efforts being made - these are challenging times. I have slightly different issues on Vodafone RBI where mainstream servers like Stuff no problems (apart from congestion) but apps like Teams that need authentication back to my company servers in Auckland won’t work. We also tried to register some animal movements on animaltrace.nait.co.nz and could not connect via RBI while this site and my work ones connect fine on Spark mobile. Traceroutes show I’m not getting as far as my company server for authentication. I have raised a ticket with our helpdesk and can wait a bit to see if it resolves.

Was only Vodafone customers having issues. I asked earlier today if there were issues and got stonewalled.

Then at 6pm I finally get a response.... not good TBH. Outages happen, but at least announce theyre happening when asked so the rest of us supporting users arent left in the dark.

Customer service response aside, are you still having problems or are things good for you now? A lot of people are having a lot of different issues right now, including Microsoft customers, so I don't want to assume what you're experiencing is the same as the others in this thread.

I’ve also got clients working from home now with Vodafone connections and same issue.
They’re just using the built in windows VPN client for the sstp connection to their servers.
Only Vodafone connections have the issue and they’re all over the country and different types of connections.
Eg: dsl, fibre, 3G/4g.
VPN drops out all the time but internet keeps working.
I can’t contact Vodafone about it as I’m not an authority on any of the users home accounts.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Can you share some info on what you're seeing? IP addresses, errors, pcaps, etc.

No idea, I finished at 4pm, and the customers had given up.  Was all VPN/RDP/general connectivity.

@gaddman sorry but after week of trying to get all of our customer working remotely, my brain is fried, we tried hard to get this sorted on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday through the right channels and got nowhere - I am taking the weekend off, will get you more info on Monday but can not take any more VPN issue, RDP issue and why is only 1 of my 4 monitors at home working RDPing into a window 7 pro PC at work and want all 4 working (yes we did get that job on day 0 of lock day - was an easy answer of "you did not upgrade even tho we said you should 12, 6, 3 month ago")

We've made some changes in the last hour to fix some routing issues, would appreciate it if you could feed back any observations - whether it's fixed or not. These changes should have only impacted mobile customers (handsets and fixed wireless), but retesting and getting some fresh traces would be a great help.
