got a Vodafone phone last week installed the sim card but wanted to give my friend my number but have got rid of the packaging what can i do

Try texting NUMBER to 521

On an iPhone you can find it in the Settings menu under Phone.

And then store your phone number in your phone, either as a contact or on some phones there is an owner details section which you can store your own details into.

Sometimes this doesnt work, often depends on sim/provider.
