According to this morning's Dominion Post it will be available in Nov.

Anyone know how firm / reliable that date is?

Last I heard was a launch in early 2009 after testing has finished. I'm guessing some boxes will be around from November but not necessarily for a public rollout.

Its a bit odd that the stuff story says November but the website does not have an estimated date....  Makes me think that November is not a general rollout

Or was it a revealing slip made during a conversation for the article?  Must be a lot of pressure on this - losing customers to sky.

Guess we will have to wait for the "further announcement in October".

Unless someone is "in the know" can reveal more.

features such as:
  • Pausing Live TV.
  • Fast forward and rewind of Live TV.

WOW! It can even see into the future!

The likelyhood of that is slim to none.  Once TelstraClear has more information then it will be posted by the official TelstraClear user on Geekzone

The rumours I've heard are that something would be coming soon for testing, but still for an early 2009 release.

And if the rumours are confirmed it seems like a really cool box.

Do you mean "cool" as in it has all the features that MySky has, or do you mean "cool" as in it has features we haven't seen before in a PVR? I'd like to see the following features (though unlikely)... - ability to transfer recorded shows to other devices (iPods, PSP, etc...) - ability to watch content stored on external USB drives, or network sharesThat would make it a really cool box.

Being able to format shift content to another device is something we'll never see here simply because it's illegal with our new copyright laws.

I am afraid I can't say much more - otherwise this could be the confirmation of rumours - or just a new one. So let's just say I thought the idea was cool.

I think if it contained the current SkyHDi functionality and reduced the number of modems into my house I would be happy.

OF course (as Adam pointed out) fast forwarding live TV would be helpful.  Take a lot of nervous moments out of some of the sports - I wonder if the TAB will have something to say about this???? Laughing

Incredibly handy for fast forwarding to Saturday to get the winning lotto numbers. ;)  I believe a shipment of 'Mr Fusion's' are on the way ;)   (from the movie 'Back To The Future' for those not in the know) ;)

Hi

The article in the Infotech (and other on-line sites)  is inaccurate and the date proposed does not reflect the information give the Dom Post in an interview with our Communications Staff.

As I have said in my previous post as soon as I am able I will let you know the date for launch.

I will post any information which adds to the prevous posts as it comes to hand.

Thanks for your patience.

Regards
