Hi I have a friend on Vodafone who just moved into a newly built house and is trying to have Fibre activated. Vodafone are saying his ONT is powered off but my friend says it is powered on. Vodafone want my friend to read out the serial number on his ONT but he can't find it. The ONT is mounted on the wall. He can see the lights on the front and the sides and bottom but he can't see the back of the ONT as it is mounted up against the wall. Where would the serial number be located on a Chorus model 100/200 ont like this https://www.chorus.co.nz/q/model-type-200

it's on the lefthand side. there are two though, you gotta get the right one or it will just give wifi creds.

unfortunately the powered off flag can be a little dumb in that, it's simply if the last status chorus got was dying gasp, it will suspect it's power fault.

generally the expectation is that the provider would use this as a trigger to validate yes, customer does have a power supply and it powers up ok. move on.

if it's powering on, but the status on chorus's side is powered off, you might find the PON light is also red..

If it is a type 100 the serial number is on the back label - you can [carefully] unclip the ONT (the clips are on each side) from it's cradle.

oh yes, that ones almost as bad as when the copper address and Fibre address don't match for many rsp systems...

It's all your fault when Type 100 onts pigtail faults start coming in now :P
