Just wondering if its possible to get the number you previously had on a new if your phone is stolen, it would be a huge mission trying to get all my contacts back and be alot easier if they could still use my old number.

So is this possible?

Im going to check the lost property again today and see if magically some honest person handed it in..

Yes this can be done in store $20ish

You will need to know the 4 digit PIN on the account as well

call vodafone now and put a block on the sim card - otherwise the person who stole it can use your credit. The block can be removed and your old credit transferred to your new sim card.

Correct - credit is assigned to the phone number which is in turn assigned to the sim card.

But all of that is irrelevant. If you lose or have your phone stolen you should have the sim card blocked so that your credit cannot be used by anyone else.

Well cost me around $380 was 3g and all that jazz, plus a $60 memory card in it, which i definitely regret buying hardly used it!
You would think people who can afford to have a membership to the gym wouldnt need to steal, but who knows maybe they like the thrill!

Get the imei off the box file a police report and get the handset black listed then its no good to anyone in nz.

Your contents insurance might cover it if you have it. Worth giving your insurance company a call about it to see.
