I have recently gone over to VOiP via the Ultrahub, and everything is working fine from this end.

 

However, I have been told that when calling a mobile phone my number or name no longer shows on their screen ... just the words 'unknown'.

 

I've always assumed that with a cell phone, if the name and number is in the Contacts list, then that information would be displayed for an appropriate incoming call?

 

Regardless of how it works, why would it now stop?

Your number must be restricted when calling out ask your service provider to check this

PS  Just tested using my own mobile, and the name comes up correctly.

@Linux ... no, not really.  That test was Vodafone VOiP to Vodafone mobile.  The person who told me of the problem was on 2Degrees.

 

I'll need to call a few others and see how their phones react.

UPDATE:  Got 2D recipient to delete my Contact, then I called them .... number showed up correctly.

 

They then created new Contact, and when calling it now shows the appropriate name, so all good.
