I know Xnet say that the desktop usage meter is not their official way for us to keep an eye on our usage...but why the heck has it done this :

Checked it earlier this afternoon - it showed last update it had done was approx 10:25am - I owe $36 odd.
Now it shows : last updated 13:30 and I owe $38 odd.

Where the hell did the extra gb of data come from ??? My PC has nothing running on it talking to the net that much, and noones at home using it. The third party metering software Im running on my PC show 4mb has been used since I left for work this morning...not 1 gb.

Dont even know why Im bothering to post this actually....
1) Xnet wont say/do anything.
2) Flame on....

The usage meter isn't real-time and there are multiple boxes which process logs.

The last log that has been processed will determine the last updated date.  Having multiple boxes can complicate how up to date the meter is, obviously if one box is fully up to date, and the other isn't you can get cases where your meter looks up to date but actually isn't, having older logs on a different server unprocessed.

The logs are not always processed in direct order and have only just recently caught up.  It's likely an older record was recently processed which explains why your traffic has jumped up suddenly without you actually doing any traffic.

The best place to keep an eye on your usage is through the Your Account section on the Xnet Website.

Yes, I also asked xnet about this.
apparently the usage meter history shows when the updated data was received from xnet to your usage meter not when you actually used the data on the internet ?

This is really confusing as when you look at the history it shows jumps and usage when there wasn't anyone home.
I think they should change it to reflect when you actually used the data so you get an accurate usage picture after all thats what it is supposed to show isn't it ?
