Wassup? - speeds to LA faster than to Auckland and 2 to 3 x faster than adjacent US cities. Could xnet somehow fast-track speedtest to LA route to give the appearance of faster performance? or what? Results from other test sites show speed to LA around 300 - 400.
must have just been a well timed test, cos I just did LA, NY, and Auckland, and the down and speeds were pretty much the same, however the pings were 191, 241 and 131 respectively, so apart from the ping not really any difference for me, though I would expect there to be going across the pacific as opposed to 200kms up the road to the same ISP server.
after 6 days with no connection whatsoever discover the problem was with t-com prehistoric dslam in exchange coupled with fibre optic cables knotted, broken, misaligned blah blah blah, now a new dslam has doubled my previous connection rate, reduced noise margin from 32db to 10.4 - tcom finally attending to upgrades that should have been done years ago so nothing to do with xnet as they are at the mercy of tcom as well. many thanks to the help desk guys who chased things up for me.
