I'm in Devonport and my internet went out this morning. The ADSL light is still lit on the router, but internet light out. Tried calling the 0800 number - just got number unobtainable tone. It's like VF just doesn't exist...

In fact for me they might not exist soon... They've been dropping my connection every 1.5hours - ish since I went to the red side.

The ADSL + internet lights both go out, then the ADSL lamp blinks for a bit, then the internet light comes back on. Meanwhile my game/download/whatever has fallen over and I get a bit more interested in Orcon.

Can't be bothered to call, can't be bothered to wait, can't be bothered to talk to Egyptian CSR. Done it before. Bored.

Hi there,

I'm posting this using the red network so I think it might be an isolated incident.

Have you rebooted your router? You don't say ... that's usually the easiest thing to do.

Incidentally, if you called the fixed line team you wouldn't get anyone in Egypt. That's for mobiles.

Cheers

Paul

I'm still here on Red - Internet's still chugging along.

And the helpdesk is not open on Sundays except for technical issues, so you should be able to get to a person within a minute - my friend called yesterday and got one within 30 seconds!

Hi Guys, Thanks for the prompt replies.

Yeah, I rebooted the router a few times but no joy. Just spoke to my daughter at home and it's back on now. Still, it was off for a couple of hours.

I was really excited when I went on the The red network -the speeds are great- but with the ~1.5 hourly disconnects on balance I preferred it before. Never thought I'd say that...

If you send me a PM with your account number/phone number etc I'll get faults to run an overnight diagnostic check. You shouldn't be having those kinds of outages... might be a problem on the line or with your household wiring (or something else entirely) but hopefully we can pinpoint it and get a fix in place for you.

Cheers

Paul

in the future you can check here for outages on the VFNZ fixed-line network.

No good if your connection is down in the first place though Smile
