Does anyone know if the Vodem is just like a "standard" GSM modem - i.e can you connect to it via a virtual com port and send it a bunch of AT commands in order to send and retrive SMS messages? If so, will it work with a standard SIM (preferably prepay) - or does it require one on an account and data plan (i.e. I'm just looking for something that can be used to programaticaticaly send/receieve SMS messages - dont need the whole internet data thing).
