Had a search but couldn’t see anything relevant.

Has anyone had a text purporting to be from Kmart ?
Had two today ,one from Kmart( your parcel has been dispatched) and then 1 hour later one from Nz post ( Your parcel is out for delivery)
Both with tracking links at the bottom.

More likely that someone entered your phone number when they ordered by mistake. I'm sure Kmart use nzpost and you get text alerts.

Might be helpful to share some screenshots of the message for other members to view?

Do the links go to suspicious domains?

It's normal to receive those text messages from Kmart - one to say your order is on its way and another from NZ Post / Courier Post.

No, I wouldn’t have posted had I ordered anything from Kmart.

I’ll try and post some screenshots tomorrow

Sorry, I don’t know how to check that.

Not arguing at all, only I haven’t ordered anything.

Nothing immediately screams "scam" but caution is always advised when you get messages you are not expecting.

It would be best for you to contact Kmart directly and advise of the messages you have received, along with the order number, and let them investigate.

As mentioned by someone else, it could be a simple mistake and someone has entered their mobile number incorrectly when making an order.

Looks legit, but postage/text scams have been a thing in the UK

If it is a scam over an oops-wrong-number, it wouldn't be a Kmart scam but a re-hash of the POSTAL (re-deilevery charges) scam.

Those .st domains on a quick google provided above. Legitimately owned by NZPost. But abused in email form previously with a different URL behind them. A long press on the link in the message would allow a copy/show this.

The NZP one goes to their tracking. It was delivered yesterday in Palmerston North.

It does sound like someone may have entered the wrong number on their Kmart order, but I'd recommend trying the above steps ^. If the URL shows something different to the link shown in the message, it'll likely be a scam. Otherwise, if it is a Kmart URL, I'd recommend getting in touch with them so they can change the contact number on the order. :)
